The MHARC team will be continuing to expand, test, and revise our language, content, and design. Our team makes every effort to be sure that the material on this website is considerate of all populations, accurate, up-to-date, evidence-based, and includes clear attribution and citation for all resources linked.

MHARC is committed to providing reliable, accurate resources that will increase the recipient’s ability to improve maternal health outcomes for all populations in their communities in order to advance maternal health in the U.S. Some of the resources may be primarily informational and others may be oriented more toward capacity-building to implement a program or action.

MHARC collaborates with many organizations and subject matter experts for content and group training and technical assistance. The statements, information, and opinions shared may not reflect the MHARC/NICHQ team, MHARC Collaborative Partners, and the Maternal Health Action Alliance. We strive to hold ourselves accountable and will address violations to our values and overall mission.

MHARC Resource Section – Vetting Protocol

To ensure that MHARC stays current and of high quality, we adhere to the following protocol to vet materials:

  • The sponsoring or submitting individual or organization of the resource may submit their resource here or work directly with a member of the MHARC team. To submit a resource for vetting review by the MHARC team, please utilize our standards of quality
  • Resource sponsor, or submitting individual or organization, will utilize the standards of quality to validate appropriateness for MHARC’s collection at the time of submission. 
  • Resource sponsor, or submitting individual or organization, will review submissions annually for retention based on ongoing relevance and currency at the prompt of the MHARC team. 
  • Resource sponsor, or submitting individual or organization, will furthermore adhere to the following standards of quality: 
    • The linked website or resource provides unique information with minimal overlap between websites or resources. 
    • The source of the content is clearly identified. 
    • The purpose of the website or resource is to provide information and not to sell a product or service. 
    • Most content is available at no charge. 
    • The website or resource is well-organized and easy to use. 
    • The content of the website or resource is accessible to persons with disabilities. 
    • The information on website or resource is current or an update date is included. 
    • The website or resource is consistently available. 
    • Links from the website or resource are maintained. 
    • Registration is not required to view the information on the website or resource link. 
    • The organization and website or resource follow compliance guidelines in accordance with executive orders, as per HRSA guidance. 
  • MHARC collects high-quality evidence-based materials that focus on the following categories:

  • Submissions that will be considered must be:
    • Materials that have utility in the maternal health setting.
    • Materials that adhere to the vetting protocol. 
    • Materials that are current, freely accessible, and easily available on the sponsoring, or submitting organization’s website. 
    • Materials that are properly cited and/or footnoted. 
    • Materials that are copyrighted and/or contain proper attribution.
  • Acceptable submissions may comprise of:

    • e-Learning Modules 
    • Fact Sheets 
    • Guidelines 
    • Policy Briefs 
    • Publications
